In a state known for the Indy 500 and its feverish basketball fandom, Indianans have shown a propensity to wager responsibly on a host of different sporting events. The state bears the distinction of being the professional base of WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark, who almost single-handedly spurred a surge in the amount of betting interest in women's sports.

2024 saw annual Indiana sports betting handle eclipse $5 billion for the first time, with November -- nestled in the heart of football season and at the beginning of basketball season -- attracting an all-time monthly high of $614 million in wagers.
