Top Pick Stats: 102 - 334 / $504.30 (-$155.70) Best Bets: 17 - 31 / $53.30 (-$8.70) Spot Plays: 4 - 29 / $14.30 (-$43.70) Best Bet: CHEDDAR DUHARAS (4TH) Spot Play: CALL ME IT (3RD) Early Pick 5: 2,3,4,5,6/8/1,3,8/3/1,9,10 = $9 Late Pick 5: 1,6,8/2,3,7/1,8/4,8/1,2,3,7 = $28.80 Early Pick 4: 3/1,9,10/1,6,8/2,3,7 = $5.40 Late Pick 4: 2,3,7/1,8/4,8/1,2,3,7 = $9.60 Race 1: 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $45,000 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (6) NIGHTIME DANCER gets needed post relief and the first time McNair angle tonight. Expecting sharp improvement and a decent price, I’ll side with him to kick off the early Pick 5. It took (4) BROOKDALE JOHNNY 37 tries to win a race locally after shipping west from the Maritimes, but he made a couple of moves and took a fast mark and a repeat is possible here; using. (5) SERIOUS MOJO disappointed in his first start for Moreau but he can improve here. Macdonald sticks with him and he is useable. (3) ODDS ON KICKOFF prevailed in a blanket finish last week and his good tactical speed makes him a player in a race with several options. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: CLM HDCP $30,000 to $40,000 (8) ORDER ONE TO GO has been razor-sharp for several weeks and he broke through last week when a dominant rival wasn’t in the race. This spot is no tougher than last week’s; call to repeat. (9) I AMA ROCKET got a tough trip on the rim and still wasn’t beaten far. He can be closer here if he can work out a better trip and he can add some value to the exotics. (7) LYONS KING took a ton of action last week and he led most of the way. He will be the likely pacesetter again, but I’m not convinced he can hold on vs. these; using underneath. (1) ARUKIDINME CABBIE is on a roll, but these are tougher. I see him taking a small slice tonight. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: 5YO and younger NW2 or $34,350 LT (3) CALL ME IT got a hellish trip last week. He pushed forward leaving the gate and he was forced three-wide into the first turn. He took a tuck, then pulled again past the 1/2 and he got stuck behind some stalled rivals then into all kinds of traffic trouble in the lane. That effort is much better than it looks on paper and he gets top billing here. I don’t have much doubt that (8) DONT FREAK OUT benefitted from two late scratches to move in from the 10-hole to post 8. He should be the one to beat here. (1) FLYING FOR TREV closed relentlessly and made up a lot of ground late to get the job done vs. easier. The way he won there suggests he is in with a chance here. (6) KYLES ART showed little at this class level Race 4: 4YO and younger NW $18,750 LT - Pick 4 (3) CHEDDAR DUHARAS raced well from the 10-hole last week and post relief is likely all he needs to get the job done here; top call. (2) MR ANDREYCHUK looked good winning his local debut, but he was also the beneficiary of a 59-flat middle 1/2. I’ll use him underneath tonight. (6) PERFECT SMILEY steps out of the conditioned claimer ranks after he blew up the tote board last week. I think his late speed will get him a share here. (8) MANHAWK qualified well enough to suggest that he will be in the exotics mix tonight. Race 5: PREFERRED 2: POSTS 1-8 DRAWN, POSTS 9-10 DRAWN (10) SOARING NOW got locked in until it was too late last week, but I’m not sure he was beating Taurasi anyway after that rival stole a 56 1/5 opening 1/2. The 10-hole should ensue an acceptable price on this one tonight. (1) SAULSBROOK VICTOR steps back up to the top level but his 1:50-flat win last week shows how sharp he is. He could get another good trip racing near the front here; using. (9) POWERTRAIN won at this level two weeks back and he is capable of repeating when his is in peak form. He is another in with a shot. (7) SOMETIME SOMWHERE can close for a small share here. He is a good one to use on the bottom. Race 6: Winners of 4 but not more than 6 or $90,500 LT AE: CLM $60,000 - Pick 5 (6) CABOT BEACH used a sub-27 third 1/4 brush to take control one class lower that this in his last start and off that strong effort he gets the call to repeat. (1) SPEAKER OF PEACE was flawless in the Snowshoe series, but he has been off three weeks now. He is obviously capable, but I wouldn’t take a short price considering the time missed. (8) JACK PANIC has been racing well and he never gets bet. He will break through at a price one of these weeks and it might be tonight. He is worth using on multi-race tickets. (5) STORMALONG will likely flash speed and stick around for a small slice again. Race 7: NW $15,750 L5 or $25,000 L8 AE: NW8 LT or NW $6,300 in 2024 - Pick 4 (3) THE GREEK FREAK is razor-sharp, and he gets to drop one level here. He should get a solid pace to track, and he gets the nod. (2) HUNGRY MAN handled a field that he laid over last week and he is capable vs. this field, too. He should get a good trip racing near the front; using. (7) POINTS NORTH was first up in wicked fractions and that was a tough chore. He is always a threat at this level, and he could add some value to the multis. (5) THE LONGEST YARD will be passing horses late again and he can close for a share. Race 8: NW $4,675 L5 AE: N/A $1,355 P/S IN 2024 (MIN 5 STARTS) OR NW $1,850 L3 (1) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER takes a big drop here and he should be tough to beat at this level. (8) AMERICAN HISTORY reverted to closing tactics last week and he fired a fast kicker. He has upset potential and he will likely get sent postward as an overlay in this spot. (5) TORONTO gets a much better post here and he should be in the exotics mix. (10) STONE CARVER is trainer Beaton’s first starter of the year, and he is good enough to land in the exotics if he can work out a trip from post 10. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW $1,500 L3 AE: Starters for a purse of $9K or less L4 (8) LEGION SEELSTER disappointed as a big chalk last week when he got too far back. I’ll stick with him here hoping that he gets sent forward leaving the gate this time. (4) BETTER BE GOUDA was 3rd to two rivals last week that would be two favorites in this field. He fits well here, and he could be the one to fend off late. (1) PINK FLOYD HANOVER will likely sit covered up to the stretch and close for a share at a price. (3) YOU CAN HAVE ITALL took action last week, but he was no match for the top thee. He is probably a but player here, too. Race 10: NW $10,100 L5 (7) REACTOR NOW A closed to lose a blanket photo for 2nd and if he can be closer at the 3/4 pole this week, he can beat these; top call. (2) TWIN B POWERBALL is another that was too far back that will likely get better positioning here. He should be a threat. (1) LETS TIE ONE ON is sharp and Cullen will likely send him from the rail. If he makes front on the backstretch, he could get brave. He is another possibility for late Pick 5 tickets. (3) MAJOR HILL work up in a big way last week and if he repeats that effort, he has a shot facing better tonight. (6) FOREFATHER will be closing late. He should be part of the exotics.
