It's a Stars and Stripes Saturday afternoon at Belmont, with five graded stakes races on the card. There are some excellent betting races, including the Belmont Derby and Oaks. Here are some horses to consider. While not the most likely winners per se, they are worth consideration in single-race exotics, at the very least. For expanded stakes previews of all of this weekend's graded stakes races, please visit video.drf.com. DWYER STAKES Code of Honor (3) is the big name and deserving favorite based on his efforts in the Fountain of Youth and Kentucky Derby. He is certainly the horse to beat, but Rowayton (2) might give him a tussle. Multiple Grade 1-placed at 2, Rowayton made two moves in winning his prep run over this surface last month. He showed good speed and pressed the three-ply pace from the rail before conceding the lead to race in the pocket. When the inside opened up in the lane, Rowayton shot on through and showed a nice turn of foot to run down the favored older runner. Rowayton should be close to the pace in the Dwyer and figures to be in the thick of things when the field swings into the stretch. BELMONT OAKS Newspaperofrecord (2) was a brilliant juvenile filly, but she's underperformed in both starts this year and will have to stretch out to 1 1/4 miles. If she can find her 2018 form, she is a likely winner, but there are three others I want to use in the Belmont Oaks. Concrete Rose (4) has some distance questions to address, but she ran right by Newspaperofrecord at Churchill despite failing to change leads in the stretch. She has excellent tactical speed and can sit a nice forward trip while second or third in the early going. Olendon (1) is trained by Pascal Bary, an internationally renowned horseman who has sent out Breeders' Cup winners Miss Alleged, Domedriver, and Six Perfections. After this race, Olendon will be transferred to Chad Brown's barn for a North American campaign, and she has shown ability in her native France. She came with a good run to finish second in a Group 1 last time out at this distance and acts like she'll handle any ground. Cambier Parc (9) enjoyed a beautiful trip when beating Newspaperofrecord in the local prep for the Belmont Oaks. She drew a tough outside post position for this race, but she was always meant to be a good horse and has the pedigree to stay this extended distance. JOHN A. NERUD STAKES  This race goes through Promises Fulfilled (9), a Grade 1 winner dropping in class who could very well clear over to make an easy lead. He's certainly the horse to beat, but Do Share (7) and New York Central (2) are worth considering in case the favorite stubs his toe. Do Share popped a triple-digit Beyer Speed Figure when rallying to win the Grade 3 Tom Fool two back, and I thought he gave a very good account when finishing just behind Promises Fulfilled in the Churchill Downs Stakes. Do Share swung widest into the stretch of the latter race and was really moving late. Do Share is a one-run closer who is going to be at the mercy of a questionable pace situation. He'll come running in the stretch. The issue is whether he'll get the quick fractions he needs. New York Central has more tactical speed than Do Share and comes into this race sharp following a rail-skimming win on the Preakness undercard. He should offer some value in the Nerud. BELMONT DERBY This race is a war, and it's possible that the favorite will go off in the 4-1 or 9-2 range. Brown trains three of these colts, and I'd like to give Rockemperor (14) a chance as the biggest price of the three. He ran a good second in a Group 3 in France two back in an extremely live race, and I wonder if the two-month layoff worked against him when he only gave an even performance in the French Derby. He's been privately purchased by some shrewd connections, and his most recent workout, an in-company drill with Standard Deviation (2), convinced Brown to run here. Cape of Good Hope (9), a full brother to Breeders' Cup Turf winner Highland Reel, didn't seem to care for the soft going in his most recent start, but he ran an excellent fourth previously in that French Derby. This colt gets Lasix and seems to be moving forward. Blenheim Palace (11) is also very well bred, being a full brother to English and Irish 2000 Guineas winner Churchill. He was used as a pacemaker in the French Derby, but some of his other races are promising, and he is likely to be a big price in this race. With blinkers on, expect him to be forwardly placed. SUBURBAN STAKES Catholic Boy (1) has an opportunity to be an important horse in the handicap division, and a win as the favorite in the Suburban would propel him up many lists. It's tough to knock a horse like this, but he won't offer much of a price, and there are a couple of others in here with appeal. Rocketry (3) may want more distance than this 1 1/4 miles, but he ended up far off the golden rail in the Brooklyn and was still running on well in the stretch. He gets blinkers for this and will attempt to stay closer to the pace. Preservationist (2) finally seems to be sound and has more tactical speed than uncoupled stablemate Rocketry. Perhaps his last race was more a result of a perfect trip over a wet track than his true coming-out party, but I believe he has the pedigree and body type to handle this distance. Lone Sailor (5) didn't really have a chance in the Gold Cup at Santa Anita over that speed-favoring strip. He usually acquits himself well with a nice late kick, and he seems very well spotted in this year's Suburban. Good luck to all today!
