Here are a couple of horses and betting opportunities to consider later this afternoon at Aqueduct. Race 5 - Allowance D' ELOQUENT (11) (4 to 1 Morning Line) (5 to 1 Value Line) D' Eloquent has yet to finish first in a race so he's a bit hard to trust, but he gave a good account of himself when "winning" his maiden via disqualification last time out at Belmont. After being bounced around leaving the gate, he settled into a good spot tracking the pace three wide. D' Eloquent made a strong bid into the stretch only to be harassed by a drifting foe. Forced out several paths and bumped hard a few times, D' Eloquent still stayed gamely to his task. The gelding earned a competitive Beyer Speed Figure (76) for that effort and his trainer, Michael Dilger, boasts remarkable numbers with last-out maiden winners. According to Formulator, Dilger is 5 for 9 (56%) with a $15.50 ROI over the past year with those horses. I'll play D' Eloquent to win at 5 to 1 odds or greater and will use him in single- and multiple-race exotics with RAPT (3) and BARTON HOLT (9). Race 7 - Allowance NOT TAKEN (3) (8 to 1 Morning Line) (6 to 1 Value Line) With GAME GIRL (1), TRUE CHARM (5), ZENSATIONAL MERRY (6), MASIO (7), LYRICAL MOMENT (8) and FIRST CHARMER (9) all exiting pace-setting efforts, there appears to be a good amount of speed in this race. That could set things up beautifully for Not Taken, a half-sister to the solid Spelling Again. Lightly raced with loads of upside potential, she recently was a rallying second in a seven-furlong heat despite being forced widest turning into the stretch. Her lone career victory came around two turns; she gets another opportunity to stretch out here.  I'll play Not Taken to win at 6 to 1 or greater and will use her in exotics with BARGAINING TABLE (2) and FEELING BOSSY (10). Those horses are both in excellent form and might get the run of the race from off the pace. Here's the link to a Ticketmaker late Pick 4 play: http://bit.ly/2g7Ly9C
